While most of the posts on this blog document Dahlia's adventures, this one is dedicated to Dahlia's mom. The fair is famous for various fried foods, the vast majority of which appear on a stick. People in Minnesota sure know how to live! The afternoon's menu consisted of a grilled pork chop on a stick, french fries, fried tater tots on a stick, fried macaroni and cheese on a stick, bull bites, a fried twinkie on a stick, a pig licker (fried bacon, dipped in chocolate with salt sprinkes) on a stick, fried cheese curds, fried Reese's peanut butter cups on a stick, and a corn dog on a stick, washed down with a chocolate malt.
True, Dahlia's mom isn't a role model when it comes to healthy eating. But Dahlia got to try some tater tots and macaroni and cheese for the first time, so she had no complaints.

While the food was outstanding, Dahlia's favorite part of the fair was pushing (and walking behind) a chair. That's fun whether you're in Austin or St. Paul!
Dahlia was also puzzled by the Minnesota summer. It was only in the 70s, and her mom made her wear a hat and a sweater on the same day. Here she is complaining about her outfit:
Dahlia also rode a in cable car, did "farm chores," and saw cows, sheep, rabbits, goats, horses, and other livestock.
It was a very tiring day.
