It was a Saturday afternoon, and Dahlia sensed that her parents were up to something because all of her favorite toys were packed away in suitcases. Rather than heading to a park or to a pool, Dahlia's parents took her to the airport. Once she got there, Dahlia was very excited. There were escalators to ride, people to wave to, and trucks to watch. After a short flight to Dallas and a ride on the "choo choo" to a different terminal, it was almost time for bed. Dahlia changed into her pajamas, boarded another plane, settled into her car seat, drifted off to sleep and...
Not wanting to waste any time during her first European adventure, Dahlia immediately went out to see the sights. After a quick ride on the tube, she saw Big Ben and Parliament:
Some pictures from Dahlia's afternoon stroll. English cowboy hats sure do look funny:

No trip to London would be complete without a stop at a local pub. As you see from the sippy cup on the table, Dahlia decided to "BYOB:"

One of the highlights of Dahlia's time in London was a trip for Indian food. After a long day, Dahlia's mom ordered herself a mango lassi. Dahlia thought the drink was so refreshing that she claimed it for herself. There wasn't much left when she finally gave it back to her mom. Special thanks to Sharon, one of Dahlia's mom's best friends, for picking out an excellent restaurant and being a great host!
After a good night's sleep, it was time to go sightseeing again. What would it be? Buckingham Palace? The British Museum? Those things are okay for your run-of-the-mill tourist, but Dahlia had other ideas. She met up with Daniel, the son of one of her mom's friends. After a lovely walk through Notting Hill...
...they went to a playground. It wasn't just any playground. It was the Princess Diana Memorial Playground, and it was impressive. Dahlia could have stayed there all day. Dahlia rode on a see-saw with her mom and climbed aboard a big ship:
Daniel (and his favorite toy) drove a tractor while Dahlia rode a horse;
Dahlia and her mom went down a slide:
And Dahlia played peek-a-boo:
After spending a long time at the playground, it was time for lunch. Dahlia and Daniel were a big hit at the restaurant. They entertained the maitre d, and he helped them accessorize. Dahlia ate her fish and chips in style:
Dahlia had a blast in London. She'll be back!
