Happy Halloween!

Halloween is always one of the best days of the year. After getting an early start on her day by waking up at the ghoulish hour of 5:30 am, Dahlia (dressed as Elmo) headed to to a Halloween playdate with several of her classmates. Here she's trying out the swings with Minnie Mouse and a Texas Longhorns cheerleader:

After a late afternoon nap, Dahlia was ready for some serious fun. It was time to go out trick-or-treating! (Notice the Elmo trick-or-treat bag to match the costume.)

Initially Dahlia didn't really understand what was going on. When her mom tried to prepare her for what was about to take place by handing her a piece of candy, Dahlia immediately handed it back. Dahlia also didn't understand why she and her mom were visiting all sorts of strangers. After Dahlia went to a couple of houses with her older next-door neighbors, she started to get the idea. It wasn't long before her mom was having a hard time keeping up with her as she sprinted from house to house:

Dahlia collected a full bag of candy and proudly showed off her loot when she got home. Look at what everyone gave me, Daddy! I think I'll start with the Tootsie Pop.

Halloween is delicious! Can we do this again tomorrow night?
