The bili blanket

Our first week at home was full of excitment after the clueless parents brought Dahlia home from the hospital. She cried a lot, lost a bit of weight, and became jaundiced. We tried various toys and devices to convince her to stop crying -- we even thought about taking her for a drive around the neighborhood!

The pediatrician gave her a "bili blanket" to treat the jaundice -- it's a phototherapy device to lower bilirubin levels that made her look like ET. By the end of the week, Dahlia had regained the weight that she lost and had gotten rid (mostly) of the jaundice.

Now she's able to roam free and entertain us with goofy faces.

Off to our first pediatrician visit in her too big carseat...

Dahlia did not like her bili blanket at first, but learned to sunbathe and hang out with her dad peacefully.

She slept in her crib, her new swing

and her bouncer.

And learned to pass some gas. :)
