California Dreaming

Dahlia and her parents took advantage of some unexpected "vacation" time with a short trip to sunny southern California. Since neither of her parents had ever been there, Dahlia decided that their first stop should be San Diego. Enjoying the ocean view in La Jolla:

Less than a month after reluctantly dipping her toes into the Caribbean Sea, Dahlia took the plunge into the Pacific. She didn't seem to mind that the water was FREEZING:

After drying off, Dahlia enjoyed the park near the beach...
...a seaside snack...

...and hanging out with Dad.

The following day, Dahlia and her parents took a short drive to Coronado, where they went for a beachfront stroll by the famous Hotel del Coronado:

Dahlia and her parents had a great time in San Diego. They want to thank their gracious hosts, the very handsome Baby Ian and his parents, Pilar and Joe. Enjoying a pizza lunch with two of their hosts:

Ian was a fabulous host. He shared all of his toys...

...even when Dahlia was too big for them. Do you remember when I used to fit in a chair like this one, Mom and Dad?

Another highlight of the trip was dinner with Margo, Samrat, and Siena, who recently moved to San Diego from the East Coast. Dahlia's mom was the person who set up Margo (with whom she skated growing up) and Samrat (with whom she worked in her first job after graduation). Way to go, Matchmaker!
