Ready for Fun (But Not for Potty Training!)

In preparation for potty training, Dahlia's doctor suggested that she should try to get used to the idea of wearing underpants. Dahlia is a fan of just about anything involving Elmo, so her mommy bought her some Elmo panties. Dahlia was a little puzzled initially...

...but she LOVED her elmo underpants! However, Dahlia didn't like the idea of wearing the underpants instead of her diapers. She insisted on showing them off to the world, wearing them over her shorts and over her pajama bottoms:

After the thrill of the Elmo underpants had worn off, Dahlia received another present -- a potty chair! It was a "Dora the Explorer" seat to match the one at school. Dahlia immediately knew what to do. She sat down and promptly demanded some reading material.

"Privacy please! Can't you see that I am sitting on the potty (with my pants on) while reading a book?"

Since the toilet training experiment was a failure, Dahlia decided to demonstrate her maturity in a different way. Wearing her mom's heels around the house:

Dahlia has also been trying to beat the summer heat (not an easy thing to do when the high temperature is consistently over 100). Here she's enjoying the sprinklers outside the performing arts center:

Taking a ride around the swimming pool:

Testing out a new visor while wearing her sunglasses indoors (upside-down, of course), and running through the sprinkler:

When it's too hot to play outside, Dahlia is perfectly content to horse around inside. One of her new favorite games is the "Dahlia burrito," where she jumps into her beloved blanket and waits for someone to wrap her up!
