The arrival of fall also meant that it was time for a new wardrobe -- no more shorts and t-shirts. Here Dahlia is putting on a fashion show. No slave to convention, she combined an Elmo vest with a sequin skirt. That outfit was a little warm, so she decided to take off the vest and to replace the skirt with legwarmers. Her parents had to explain that pants aren't optional:
Always the negotiator, Dahlia decided to put the vest back on. Do I really need to wear pants, Mom and Dad? Everyone will be admiring my Elmo and Zoe vest!
Speaking of everyone's favorite Sesame Street character, it's never too early to start thinking about Halloween. Dahlia looks awfully comfortable and warm in her Elmo costume:
One of Dahlia's favorite activities is admiring the little girl in the mirror. The smile on her face says it all: "I look marvelous, if I do say so myself!"
Some kids like cereal. Some kids like yogurt. Dahlia enjoys both of those things, but her new favorite breakfast food is peanut butter. She thinks that putting peanut butter on bread only slows her down. It's much more efficient to eat right out of the container!
Dahlia isn't quite ready for potty training, but she's becoming more and more interested in all things bathroom-related. Here she's announced that "Baby Doll made poopy" and is in the process of changing her diaper. Perhaps next month she and baby doll will learn to use their potties.
