Summer Recap Part Five: A Final Fond Farewell to Austin

Six summers ago, Kaori and Andy drove Kaori's beloved green Jetta from Chicago to Austin...

...where Andy started working at the University of Texas and trying to stay one step ahead of his students...

...and the two of them settled into married life.

Six years later, Kaori and Andy left Austin with many great memories...and their hands full:

The week before we left Austin, we had dinner at the Oasis, one of the city's most distinctive restaurants. Perched in the hills above town, it's the place to go to watch the sun set over Lake Travis. Back in January 2003, Kaori and Andy visited Austin to see whether they could imagine themselves living there. They drove out to the Oasis on a cold and dreary day, only to find that they couldn't see a thing. Over six years later, on a hot and sunny August evening, they watched a beautiful sunset with Dahlia and Jonah:

The next day was a busy one. We woke up, closed on our house, took a trip up Mount Bonnell for one last view of the city...

...and boarded a plane on a way-one ticket out of town:

Goodbye Austin! We will miss you!
