Welcome to Minnesota

After nearly two weeks on the road, Dahlia and Jonah finally arrived in their new home state of Minnesota.

Their new house, which is in a first-ring suburb of the Twin Cities, is a big change from their house in Texas. It is a nice, large rambler with five bedrooms spread out over two floors. It's the first time they've lived in a home with a basement, but everyone is most excited about the large attached garage, a necessity for those long, cold Minnesota winters:

Dahlia's dad arrived several days before the rest of the family to meet the moving truck and unpack the essentials. His most important job was to make sure Dahlia's room was perfectly unpacked and ready for her arrival:

Fortunately, his hard work paid off. After nearly two weeks on the road, Dahlia bounded into her "new house." She squealed with delight when she walked into her "new room" and was reunited with some of her favorite things:

Dahlia opened every drawer and looked into all of her closets just to make sure that all of her toys were accounted for. After that, it was time to take her favorite shopping cart for a whirl:

Look out, everybody! It's time to go shopping:

Jonah didn't open drawers, look in closets, or run around, but he made it clear that he was also pretty pleased with his new environs. Look at that winning smile:

Here's to new places and new adventures!

YAY!!! Good to see Dahlia settling in pretty well. Jonas has grown just in the last few months. Look at those dimples! :)
