Jonah Turns Six Months Old

Just two weeks after his older sister turned three, Jonah turned six months old. Time flies! He weighed in at 16lbs, 11 ounces (50th percentile) and was 27 1/4 inch tall (75th percentile). He's nearly as tall as the width of his crib (and Winnie the Pooh):

In addition to growing, Jonah has been busily developing all sorts of skills. He can roll to his side and likes to sleep there, but somehow has not yet figured out (or doesn't want to) roll all the way over. Tummy time is his least favorite activity, but he absolutely loves to sit up. At six months, he isn't completely stable sitting up yet. Many a collapse has occurred, either from unstable sitting or from being tipped over by his older sister, but Jonah is happy as a clam as long as he's given a bit of landing cushion.

Jonah also loves his toys, especially anything that can be chewed or rattles. Fortunately, in Jonah's world just about anything can be chewed. The best ones, of course, are attached to his own body - toes are delicious!

As he approached six months, Jonah started to sit in his high chair. His little legs barely make it over the edge of the high chair, but when he's within range he likes to kick the kitchen table. Dahlia makes sure that Jonah knows the house rules - "No feet on the table, Jonah!" - but thankfully she has not tried to send him to time out yet when he forgets to follow the rules:

As he started to get the hang of the high chair, the real fun began. Jonah put on his bib and was introduced to the wonders of solid food. He wasn't too impressed with rice cereal, but he really enjoyed carrots and sweet potatoes:

Overall Jonah is a very happy and easy going baby. He is known as the class flirt because of the way he smiles at just about anyone. One of his smiles is enough to melt anyone's heart!
