With December came parent-teacher conferences at day care. According to her teachers, Dahlia plays well with others, likes to watch and imitate the older kids, gives hugs and pats to other kids when they are upset, and effectively communicates her needs. Dahlia's parents are still amused that they had a conference about a one-year-old, but they were glad to hear that she is right on schedule developmentally!
Outside the classroom, Dahlia continues to find new and exciting ways to amuse herself (and others). Here she's playing with her "new" tricycle. Dahlia loves riding on it, and her parents think that the pushbar is a stroke of genius:
Do you remember how her teachers said that Dahlia effectively communicates her needs? Here she's sitting by the door, holding her shoes to let her parents know that it is time go outside and play. Sometimes they don't pick up on this signal, so Dahlia has to carry her shoes over to them:
Dahlia also loves to play inside. Here she's running through the house, trying to bring the leotard-and-leggings look back into style. Do we have a future ballerina on our hands?
