St. Paul Winter Carnival

Dahlia and Jonah didn't let the long, snowy Minnesota winter stop them from having fun. In February, they went to the St. Paul Winter Carnival. One of the highlights of the carnival was a short (it was cold!) walk through the square where there were all sorts of ice sculptures. Dahlia and Jonah didn't know it was possible to carve so many different things out of ice:

Jonah, all bundled up like a true Minnesotan, didn't understand what the fuss was about:

Dahlia enjoyed many of the ice sculptures, but her absolute favorites were the functional ones. After Dahlia struck a princess pose on an ice throne, she and her mom took a seat at an ice table:

The winter carnival selects a "royal court" (think high school homecoming), so maybe in a few years Dahlia and Jonah will be a "real" ice princess and prince!
